I do not get rid of things, in general, as most know. I am hoarder, but in my own right. I have a fascination with toys. Growing up it was suggested that instead of selling our toys for a few bucks, save them for later, and earn money by working. It stuck with me. Unfortunately with life comes dirt. These were stored poorly over the years. As I fix my almost 100 ponies up I will post pictures of them. With the joy they brought me growing up they deserve to be displayed/played in glory and not in the shame of time. Based on references, my ponies come from Year 1 - 7 (and one sole one from Year 8). I became annoyed/disheartened by the weird things they were doing with the ponies. I played longer than that, but wasn't thrilled by the available ponies...
My sole purpose right now of fixing up my MLP is to enjoy them with my niece. I believe these were and are meant to be played with.

My young niece finally gave me the jumpstart I needed. I dug out the castle and a few ponies.
I am missing a dozen or so, but all have received their first initial cleaning to see how they are. Some are now quarantined.
The captions give same details on the pictures. Pictures are below - just scroll down.
Picture overview (captions are associated with each picture)
1. The collection after first washing to see what issues needed to be addressed
2. My niece "claimed" these from the bin of ponies. I am excited to share my collection with her. They were clean enough I let her play with them with a minimal wipe down. Shown are: baby tic-tac-toe, milkweed, and baby tiddley-winks (inside the castle)
3. My Little Pony Friends - interesting little buggers. Shown: Cutesaurus and Creamsicle. My niece gravitated towards these two right away. Oddly, I don't really remember getting the dinosaur... It's mine, really it is, but I wonder if it was a gift?
4. My niece also selected Bluebelle. Not sure how one of my originals held up so well?
5. Princess Sparkle. Well my niece and I agree. This is one of both our favorites. She needed some cleaning love as my young grubby hands obviously liked her.
6 and 7. These lovelies are my first attempts at cleaning. I should have taken before pictures, especially for Lickety-split (Who I called Ice Cream Cone Butt as as a child). She had rust butt (as you can see your tail is to the side, and she had massive grime). Her hair has faded considerably. Her tail needs another bout of conditioner. I use Shea conditioner. It is expensive, but I need so much less that I think it helps save money. Milkyway was another favorite of mine, but after a gently cleaning you'd never know. Her hair was still silky soft and given a quick reset. Wild Flower had some paint or nail polish, otherwise clean. Cleaned and reset, she is looking new. Baby Sundance was grimey. Poor kiddo was part of the old pack. Her eyes do have rust, but open/close (for the most part). The white cleaned up splendidly, and her hair is soft.
8, 9, and 10. Oh these ladies. The picture of Lily-of-the-Valley, the May Birthday Pony, is after a massive cleaning, and she's still GRIMEY. She has purple and pink dots. She has two brown dots :(. They were boiled. After all the cleaning, I think she needs an oxiclean bath.
Oh Surprise. She is my first one or very close to first. This poor girl shows it too. She's covered in grime, and more grime, and some grime on top of that. Sadly, she has the brown dot on her leg. I used the hydrogen peroxide method on her foot. It really cleaned the grime on her legs, but up here in north country, the sun isn't strong yet. She has so much work left on her. Her hair is crunchy-ish. Despite the TLC shape, this pony was greatly loved and I hope she can be cleaned up and shared with my niece(s). 4.11.15
11, 12, and 13. Flutterbye with glitter. She's so pretty. She needed a little cleaning, but her hair was still shiny and soft. One hoof has a small ink looking stain, but it's not really noticeable. Well, I was let in on a secret today (almost 30 years later). When I received my allowance as a child I would immediately spend it at the toy store (not a surprise). IT was convenient that my allowance covered the cost of most ponies (they were usually under $5). There was a week every once and a great while were the overage built up and I got two ($20 a month, or about $5 a week and there was NO ASKING for more money or toys. If I wanted it, I had to save for it. We’d look in the toy isles but knew never to ask for toys – my parents were really on to something). Anyway, this meant I got quite a few ponies. And for Christmas I’d ask for… shocker, more ponies. My ability to buy about a pony a week or two made it challenging for others to know the pony I wanted. Their solution? They took the points off the card and saved them up, and then bought me mail order ponies. This meant I was surprised and had no way of purchasing them myself. I didn’t learn to save my allowance unless I wanted something big (and it was hard but I did manage).
14. Baby Sniffles - from the twin packs. I liked these little ones when I was younger. The grime agrees. She just needed a quick cleaning. You see her having her hair set. the little tuffs are hard to keep down to set, so she was mummified. It appears her pink faded with time, as she's not as contrasted as I see in reference pictures.
15. Bluebelle getting her tail set after I realized how frizzy it was.
16. Next round of baths. This one includes a twiner – Rattles (still a little dirty), Sparkly eyes Party Time (has major regrind going on), flutter pony Peach Blossom (her hair –AH. I must’ve been annoyed as kid too as both main and tail were braided.
17 and 18. Party Time regrind pictures. These black dots seem to be the start of regrind. I'm wondering if the brown splotches believed to be mold or bacteria could be a type of regrind?
19. Flutter Pony Peach Blossom getting her hair conditioned - it's already leaps better. She needs another treatment, but what a difference!
20. Baby Rattles and Baby Sniffles.
21 and 22. Skyflier, she's dirty. I thought she was clean, then my sister started on her. Oh this poor girl needs a major cleaning. Can you see the dirt? She's pretty now, but I can't wait to see her all done.
23. The babies are unwrapped and looking cute.
These are from my personal collection from childhood. If it is a recent purchase it will be noted, otherwise original to my youth.
I am interesting in restoring other MLP. I won't sell mine, not a chance. If you have a collection you want to sell, let me know.
